Text Box: ELL is Making a Difference, So Can You
Text Box: Our English Language Learner’s program, also known as ELL, is designed to meet the specific and individual needs of English language learners. We recognize that every child has a unique way to take in and learn information. We make sure that your child is provided multiple opportunities for success. We are happy to work with students in different settings. Some students are more comfortable working with a small group and may feel more confident in a setting with fewer students, while others may feel great in a large classroom setting.
Text Box: We are not afraid to try new and exciting ways to involve families in the learning process. We believe that families have a significant impact in the learning process. Working alongside families to motivate and create a passion for questioning and learning in our students is a goal we strive to reach. The greatest impact can be seen in a student’s study habits and self confidence when learning. You can have a powerful influence over how your child feels and learns. Showing excitement and joy over everyday accomplishments is a simple and effective way to start this journey with your child.
Text Box: Your participation and insight is always welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for taking an active role in your child’s education!

Did You Know?

New research has found that being bilingual can delay the onset of Alzheimer’s and dementia for up to 4 years.  People who use both languages on a daily bases exercise different parts of the brain, thus helping combat these diseases.

Text Box: Reading from the Heart
Text Box: Children love to have adults read to them. They especially love to have them make funny voices and use plenty of emphasis. What kind of crazy things have you done to engage your child while reading a book? When you choose to read a book to your child you are sending them a message. They know that reading is important and it is fun!
Text Box: Would you feel more comfortable reading in your native language? Sharing a book with your child in your native language will build a very special bond between you and your child. Did you know that our ELL Team has access to many bilingual books? You have the opportunity ot come and borrow bilingual books to read to your child.
Text Box: We have many Spanish/English books. Make an appointment with Mrs. Basaldu to learn more!
