Welcome to our second grade classroom!

Welcome to Mrs. Apodaca’s 2^nd grade classroom at Morris Hill Elementary!  I am very excited to be back at Morris Hill after being an Instructor at Kansas State University. I enjoyed my teaching job at KSU very much but I missed teaching children, and am glad that I am back to doing what I love to do! I graduated from Kansas State University with a  B.S. in Elementary Education and a Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language endorsement.  I am currently working on completing a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. 

Teaching and learning is my passion and I hope to nurture this within every child.  I believe second grade is a perfect year to begin instilling a foundation for  teaching and learning that will become a part of  every child’s attitude towards life long learning. 

 

Our classroom is made up of very diverse students, since the majority of the students in this school are affiliated to the military base.  I have 21 wonderful 2nd graders, who are eager to learn new things everyday!

Parents play a major role in their child’s education. In the beginning of the year we worked together on a promise. We drew pictures and wrote some words that expressed our commitment to your child’s learning throughout the school year and signed the promise. I am committing my year to carefully take into consideration every child’s learning environment.  I am promising to do whatever it takes to allow every child to be successful in their learning. The promise we developed is posted in our room and serves as a reminder of the promise to work together to ensure the success of every child.
