On Thursday, November 15, 2007, we celebrated our Blue Ribbon Award with a special ceremony at Morris Hill Elementary. Our hosts were Sierra and Alex. They shined in their ability to lead the ceremony and introduce our distinguished guests.

Mrs. Daphne Maxwell, USD 475 Board of Education President, was our keynote speaker.  Aaron, 4^th grade student, was inspired by Mrs. Maxwell’s strong words. Antonio, 2^nd grade student, said “I liked the cheer from Mrs. Maxwell”.

Mrs. Haffner and Mr. Lumb spoke about their trip to Washington D.C. to receive this award. Mrs. Haffner spoke about building relationships, relevance to your life and developing rigor in the curriculum.

Mr. Lumb had three challenges
for the teachers and students:

1.      Enjoy the work.
2.      Accept the challenge.
3.      Appreciate the results.
